Influencing Culture
Anne is an accomplished speaker who bravely shares her Melanoma story as well as lays out the case for cultural change. She has spoken at medical industry conferences, advertising agencies and corporates.
Skin Check Champions
In 2022 Anne was an ambassador for the Skin Check Champions Strip Off For Skin Cancer campaign. The campaign was the most succesful yet, resulting in worldwide media coverage due to the naked photo shoot by Spencer Tunick at Bondi Beach.
She also donated her time in a marketing capacity on this campaign.
Influencing at Parliament
In Feb 2023 Anne met with Hon Matt Thistlethwaite MP to support lobbying for Melanoma funding in the Federal Budget. She was just one of the many voices that influenced the Government to allocate funds for specialist Melanoma nurses.
With Melanoma Institute Australia, Anne met with Federal Health Minister, The Hon Mark Butler MP in March 2023 to discuss the impacts of media and advertising on Australia's skin cancer issue.
Media Interviews
Anne has been called upon by many media outlets. She has been interviewed by all major TV networks to discuss various issues concerning skin cancer prevention and her story has appeared in print and online publications.
Her live in-studio appearance with Professor Georgina Long on Today was to discuss the dangerous sun tanning behaviours trending in social media.
Consumer Advocate
Anne considers herself one of the lucky ones who has gone on to live a full and healthy life since her Stage IV diagnosis. She joined the MPA Consumer Advisory Group in 2023 as she understands the need for support and information when dealing with a Melanoma diagnosis.
Poetry
Anne's poetry helped her navigate the emotional rollercoaster of her Stage IV diagnosis. Her poem 'Sunbaker' features as the foreword to State of the Nation – A Report into Melanoma which was launched by the the Federal Health Minister, Hon Greg Hunt MP in Feb 2022.
